Angefangen habe ich mit dem NetWorker V. 6.3 auf Sun Solaris in einer komplexen Backup-to-Tape-Umgebung. Schon damals war der NetWorker eines der wenigen Backup-Produkte, das man für die Datensicherung jeglicher Anwendungen und Datenbanken sowie für die Verwaltung von tausenden LTO-Bändern einsetzen konnte. Mit der Zeit habe ich auch andere Backup-Produkte (Veeam, Rubrik, AVE etc.) kennengelernt und verwendet, aber aufgrund der Funktionalität und Vielfältigkeit bevorzuge ich den NetWorker. Als Backup-Admin habe ich NetWorker für das Backup von mehreren tausend Servern an verschiedenen Standorten weltweit, benutzt. Dank sicherer NetWorker-Funktionalität und richtig umgesetzter Backup-Strategie konnte ich als Backup-Admin und Tech. Consultant mehrere Ransomware-Angriffe erfolgreich und ohne Datenverlust überstehen.
